I have $3,000 laying around and was going to buy a long range rifle and then thought, "I don't have anything full auto in my NFA collection yet" (4 SBR's, 2 SBS's, 1 DD, & 2 suppressors) so why not find one. Are there any MAC's or anything for that matter worth spending $3,000 on? If not I may wait and gather a little more cash or just get a 50BMG upper for one of my spare lowers.

You want a M11/9 not a M10, mags are much cheaper and easier to get for a M11/9. The Lage Max-11 is a must have, the gun is not worth having without it.
This is a great place for all things MAC http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=82 And heres the website for the Lage Max11 Slow fire upper http://www.max-11.com/ |

Do the research to understand the difference between the Mac 10 and the M11/9.
Different guns, by different companies. They operate essentially the same on (I believe its Ingram's) design. The Mac 10 was originally deisgned as a .45 and is heavier and wider. Its available in 9mm also, but is still thicker and heavier, though shorter. The M11 was designed as a 9mm gun and is much slimmer. Its also lighter. The lower (which is the registered part) is made of thinker metal than a Mac 10. Its not a problem because the lower is not really stressed. All the action happens in the upper. Original uppers can be had for $250 on gunbroker, so when its worn out, throw it away and get another one, if you don't want to bother repairing it. Lage makes uppers for both the Mac 10 and the M11/9 Just google them and you'll get all you need to know about the differences. |

you can get m11 uppers alot cheaper then the con artist on GB are selling them for.
AGAIN, for all things MAC: www.uzitalk.com More info then you will need and mostly a NFA related site, very littel talk about boring Title 1 stuff. M10s with a Lage are pretty heavy and that is a disadvantage if your shooting matches or just messing around. The cool thing about MACs is that they are "sheet metal" guns, basically if you dont hurt the serial number you can fix it. If it ain't got a Stamp it ain't Shit. |

I should have been more clear, the 9mm mags are cheaper then the .45 mags for the M10. The Recon Ordance Mags are probelly the way to go for a 9mm gun, sometimes the zytel mags work very well but because they are plasic they ware and will break if you drop a loaded 1 on a hard surface, at least its happend a few times, trust me that sucks.
I have shot M10s with the UZi conversion from Sam at Practical Solutions and they run good, mags are cheap. But the ROF is kinda a turn off if your in a Match. Theres video of a freind of mine on Youtube doing (9) 32 rd uzi mags threw his M10 and only 1 maybe 2 jams. |
