So....I am pretty much leaning toward an XCR with an 11" barrel as an SBR purchase.  I am wondering what the hive mind would say to use.  A Noveske, a regular flash hider or a regular muzzle brake?  What would you recommend as far as noise levels are concerned?

Also, once I would have the SBR, can I have an extra barrel, let's say a 16", to interchange as I like, or can it only have the short barrel on it?

Thnaks for the advice/help!!!!!!!!

When I SBR'd my XCR I put down 9" as the barrel length on my Form1 because Alex is planning on coming out with a 9" PDW upper.  It isn't out yet so I had him make an 11" light profile barrel for me in the mean time.  I also have a spare 16" barrel which is fine to posess and use.  As far as a muzzle device goes, I tried a Noveske KX3 but didn't feel it offered as much advantage (throwing the concussive blast forward) as it did on my 7.5" AR so that is where it stays.  The XCR is just as loud with an 11" bbl. as it is with a 16" bbl. and not much more.  I feel that the Vortex flash hider works the best to eliminate flash on "any" bbl. length so that is what I am using now.  There isn't much recoil with the XCR's gas system with a 16" or short barrel so a muzzle brake isn't really needed.

This combination works best for me,
