I'm in the market for a Colt SBR and am wondering what the differences would be on the following models.  This gun won't be a safe queen and I'm wondering what the optimum twist rate is - I couldn't find it for the 6933 (JBArms & Clyde's sold/sell them).  Should I be looking for a faster / slower twist on an SBR?  Also, should I only consider the 6933 if I'm going to mount a suppressor?

MODEL AR6721, SPECIAL PURPOSE, .223 10in BBL 1/9 HBAR, ENTRY TEAM VERSION OF THE STANDARD AR6721

MODEL LE6921SP, SPECIAL PURPOSE, .223 10in 1/7 (LWT -M4), ENTRY TEAM VERSION OF THE STANDARD LE6921 USING A LIMITED PRODUCTION SOCOM/US GOVT BARREL
CLASS III

MODEL 6933, SPECIAL PURPOSE, .223 11.5 BBL

Any additional infor or considerations I should make would be appreciated.  Thx

6933 is 1/7

Twist rate and bullet weight go hand in hand.  Barrel length just effects velocity.

Have you found the 6921 special purpose anywhere?

I have the above model that I purchased for Specialized Armament Warehouse (SAW).  It is a bit more expensive compared to the 6933, but was on the shelf for the transfer and is super-cool in my book.  I found SAW easy to deal with and the rifle shoots like a dream--no issues with the 10.5 inch barrel lenghth.

Have you mounted a suppressor on the 10.5 / 6933?  I'm concerned that most suppresoor manufactures recomend 11 or better, but I'm not sure how much .5 inches really matters...

Thx

Suppressors are A-OK on a quality 10.5 inch barrel with 1:7 twist.  I run an SWR Specwar-2 on my LMT 10.5 with 100% reliability and no problems with baffle strikes, etc.. Gemtech was the main opponent to using their cans on barrels shorter than 11 inches, but they seem to have loosened up on this with the widespread use of 10.5's by .mil/.gov

One thing to take note of; I believe the SAW 6920SP has a 10 inch barrel, not a 10.5.  If you look at pics, I don't think there is enough clearance for a bi-lock mounted suppressor (Gemtech and SWR).  AAC's and Surefire's mounts may work, though I am not sure.  A thread-mounted suppressor would work just fine on a 10.

No issues on either one of my LMT 10.5's with an AAC M4-2000.
