| I have a LMT M203 I bought on a form 1 without a barrel. I registered and engraved it. What would be the easiest way to sell it? Is it possible to unregister it? If I didn't, and sold it, would both I and the next buyer have to pay stamps? |

Not sure if DDs work the same way, but with an SBR all you need to do is inform the NFA that it's no longer an SBR and to remove it from the registry and you can treat it as a Title 1 weapon.
Where did you engrave it? If the above happens to be the case and it can transfer as a Title 1, I might be interested. No barrel but all parts? ~Augee |

So, you bought a reciever(Title I), then you manufactured a DD(Title II), you did get a stamp when you got your approved form 1, didn't you? You should be able to sell it within your state FTF, at least we can in Pa., after getting an approved form 4.(only 1 stamp.) If you sell it out of state it must transfer to a dealer in their state, tax paid. Then to the purchaser, tax paid. (2 stamps) I think this is correct. if not someone will correct me soon enough. |

A DD is a DD by configuration (like all NFA weapons except machine guns). If it's not in a DD configuration, it's not a DD. The NFA handbook speaks to this.
Yes, you can sell it as a title I without the barrel. There is no requirement to 'take it off of the registry', but it gives most people a warm/fuzzy to let them know. Read the NFA handbook. It should answer your questions. |
