I am new to the DD world and am looking at getting a close to traditional looking m203 for my m4 as possible. I will registering it as a DD in the near future also. I am tossed between the cobray and the spikes havoc. Once registered(not before and as long as there is no legal issues with this) I was planing on loading 00 buck shot into film canisters as I have read about and or using the 12ga adapter for 00 buck use. Any input on either of these 2 would be great in regards to quality, durability, able to handle those rounds.

check out grogs and search around, 37mm latches aren't as strong as the real deal so they will break using some more powerful 3" 12g shotgun loads.

The HAVOC is a great unit and I love mine, but if you want a good copy of the M203 that is not it.  Spike's HAVOC is it's own animal.

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to try and find a cobray just for the classic look. Unless any one can give me a reason not to get one. Also what would a fair price for one be?

I love my Havoc so far.  Got to fire off some flares over the Thanksgiving holiday and it was a blast.  Granted, it doesn't look exactly like the M203, but, well, it's not an M203.  For the price of the Havoc, you can't beat it.

I mounted mine on a YHM bottom handguard, with a classic M203 handguard on top.  the top handguard hides a bit of the Havoc rail so it looks a little better I think.  Still waiting on my front leaf sight to be delivered.

Very nice looking set up. May be another option.
