I'm sitting around in my hotel room bored, so humor me

When applying for all the stuff you need to store and use explosives, I'm assuming you have to submit a site plan.

Do you, as the user have to do all your quantity-distance calculations, or does the BATFE do that for you?

Do they come out and give you a letter of approval for say xxx NEW of 1.1D, xxx NEW of 1.2D, xxx NEW of 1.2E, xxx NEW of 1.4G, etc etc etc or do they just say "You are approved to store these classes/divisions"?

Are prefab magazines/bunkers like ones from ARMAG the only storage method approved, or can you build your own bunker as long as it meets specs?

I deal with this stuff at work, just have no clue how it works for civvies, and was curious.

thanks for keeping me amused

I submitted it all myself. Did the site survey, back up plan and distance calculations. Mine was pretty easy though, only having to deal with a level IV mag.

I'm also pretty sure that one constructed, so long as it meets specs, is GTG.

I submitted for a type 40 users license and after shopping around, found no one would sell to an individual. BATFE still has not approved my license after 2 years and since no one will sell to me, I never pushed the issue.

RyJones has a lot more knowledge than I do.

I applied for mine as I have a nutria/beaver problem on my farm. The part of Tx Parks and Wildlife that deals with destructive pests never helped me out.

Cool, thanks.

Sucks about your pest problem, though.  No real easy way to get rid of them, is there?

ETA: I knew I came to the right place.  Somebody, somewhere on ARFcom knows something about anything you could ever want to know.

No easy way. It's expensive getting a backhoe unstuck......

Shit...back in the day my EOD unit would go out and blow beaver dams with TNT for the Forest Service bubbas.  They were the days.

Hm...the user fee appears to be only $20, and I could build the proper storage facility on my dad's land.

How much do the common HE's cost?

there arent any common HE rounds because manufacturers dont want to sell to DD dealers.

My dealer cant get squat and hes lisensed to have explosive DD's.

You'll have to get an explosives permit and make your own explosive DD's registered on form1's $200 tax per round. If you dont know what your doing I dont recommend it.
