| Considering a Tirant 9M and hosts would be various 9mm pistols and a AR9 threaded 1/2 x 36. Is mounting a 1/2 x 36 to 1/2 x 28 adapter on the AR and using a fixed barrel spacer a solid way to go? Is there a better way to go? |

1/2-36 piston with fixed spacer. Thread adapters should be avoided unless absolutely neccesary. This. I would add that it MIGHT be advisable to get a new barrel in 1/2 x 28 and sell your current barrel on EE. You would come out better for it in the trade rather than buying a piston. I was not so lucky as I have a Colt 9mm and did not want to change the original barrel. |

FPNI - unless there's a fixed barrel mount available, then consider that. You're going to disassemble the end of the can to swap the piston spring for the fixed mount ANYWAY, so why not swap for the "correct" mount instead? Not really any more work to change the 1/2x28 piston to the 1/2x36 piston or to a 1/2x36 fixed barrel mount or whatever.
1/2x36 is pretty common on AR9 stuff, so you should be able to find what you want. I went 3-lug myself, but ending up with a 3-lug "dedicated" can because changing the pistons is more trouble I will confess to getting a M16x1RH Glock 21 barrel made up so I could use the same can/booster combo on two different pistols rather than swap out pistons

3 lug all the things This - at least all the fixed barrel 9mm things Truth be told, I'm waiting on the ILWT adapters to see if I do that to the Uzi or not.... Not honestly sure that's going to look "right" - and I have this gorgeous "invisible" thread protector barrel in 1/2x28. |
