The description of the pistol says it is "suppressor ready" and has 1/2x28 threads. But I see there are spacers and adapters available for this pistol. What are they for? I have a ruger 22 can in 1/2x28, do I need a spacer or anything?

Thanks

The barrels have a native thread that is smaller than 1/2 - so an adapter is needed to bring it up to 1/2x28 and provide a shoulder for the suppressor to tighten against. The adapter needs to come off when you field strip the pistol for cleaning. The "suppressor ready "model comes with the adapter.

You should not need the spacer - that's used when the threads are .6" in length.

For a visualization of part of what Engineer said, here's my full size and compact models. They technically all have threaded barrels (except maybe a CA compliant version), but the stock threads are covered with a thread protector and end pretty much flush with the slide. You have to remove the TP and install an adapter to get 1/2-28 threads for a can. The suppressor ready version comes with the adapter already.

The top one has the factory TP and the bottom has the suppressor adapter:

Here's what the standard barrel looks like with the TP removed and no adapter:

Here's what they (also a GSG 1911-22 in the pics) look like with the adapters, and also with the adapters with TPs:

The supressors ready model has an adapter with it from the factory.
