What's considered lightweight or heavy in the suppressor world?

I've got a 10.5" 5.56 sbr I want to suppress and I am trying to balance weight and cost. I'm trying to stay under $700, but not add a ton of weight.

I saw the post about silencer specwar 556 on sale, but is 19oz a lot of weight to add?

Also account for muzzle device weight which can often be 2.5-4oz
My specwar is heavy and lives on a 16" Recce

Honestly, my 17 (?) ounces Trek direct thread isn't awesome on a 10.5"
So as light as you can afford

ETA: you linked the K just so everyone knows

Specwar is heavy, thunderbeast ultra is light, omegas, sandman, surge are in the middle. Usually weight increases as rated barrel length decreases.

My Surge in K configuration feels fine on my 11 5" SR15 and 8.5" Noveske blackout.

Thunderbeast is 12 ounces and 7", Omega is 12.5 ounces and 6" in their lightest configurations. Thunderbeast is 1050 while omega is 850. Thunderbeast is not full auto rates, Omega is.  Thunderbeast is rated for 11.5" barrel in 5.56, Omega is rates for 10".

Heavy ~ 19 oz - gonna be cheaper because they are usually made out of stainless steel (heavy)
Mid ~ 15 - usually a mix of stainless and inconel or titanium
Light ~ 12 - titanium (light but expensive).

Omega with no ASR is $850?
Don't you get another muzzle device when you register? Sell that to lower net price

I like my Specwar 556 K, it's light and short compared to my Specwar 762

Maybe take a look at the Griffon Armament Spartan, a 6.5" 5.56 DT can at list of $550, and weighing 12.5oz?

I heard their customer service is questionable.  Their weights and price are in my range.  Are the GTG?

I called a online shop about their stuff.  They mentioned it in passing. Don't recall who I called.  Good to know it's not true.

Maybe I'm the exception, idk. Maybe that shop is getting the cold shoulder or maybe they're high maintenance. Who knows

Fwiw, the Spartan is listed at $445 on Silencer Shops site, though none are in stock.

Apples to apples as they come out of the box in direct thread config? 11.5oz vs 14oz, both from the manufacturer site. Switch to QD and that goes to 11.5oz and 18.2oz with the anchor brake, so 17.2oz with the flat cap.

11.5oz vs. 17.2oz total weight on the threads in the most common form is not really the same thing to me.

JKSilencers shows the Spartan 3 in stock. I love mine, it's been a great can and Griffin has customer service to match in my experience. If you plan on keeping the silencer on one rifle, I highly recommend the Spartan 3. If you want to swap it around, the Recce 5 is lighter than the Specwar K factoring in the weight of the mount.
