For guys who have, some questions.
1) Does average professional application fill in and obscure engraving font and/or laser engraved designs (i.e. Dead Air logo)? 2) Do factory finishes on AAC and Dead Air can have a higher or lower heat threshold for discoloration versus cerakote? Would you skip cerakoting your can even if there was no cost involved? 3) Is high temp cerakote have a flatter finish than regular or more satin type or sheen in graphite black? I know there is a "high temp" version of cerakote. I'm having a Handguard, upper and lower cerakote. Was entertaining doing my can to match the color as it is a dedicated can. The high temp and regular cerakote have different coloring apparently. Do the entire SBR in high temp cerakote for matching. This is not going to be a safe queen. I'm curious to play with the cerakote and see how it wears as this will be thrown in the truck quite a bit. |

Cerakote will discolor as well. 3) Is high temp cerakote have a flatter finish than regular or more satin type or sheen in graphite black? That depends on how much hardener is used. Thanks for the replies. I've been shooting the can awhile, and it holds up just fine. I'm switching it from general use to dedicated on another SBR I'm building. The shop doing the cerakote offered to do my can at no extra charge since he was doing the rest of my components. This one is going to get dragged around abit.
I guess I was debating to leave the OEM SDN-6 finish alone as it doesn't need to be refinished. |
