So I'm looking at doing some 41F panic buying and my local dealer has the following 45 cans in stock:
Ti-rant FDE for $629 Ti-rant M for $689 Octane HD for $729 It will be running on a FDE FNP Tactical for now but perhaps a 1911 later and maybe some 300BO subs and I have a Multi mount 9, Phantom .223 and a Sparrow so you know what I'm already working with. Please help me decide so I can call them back and buy while they still have stock. I'm leaning towards the FDE ti-rant but convince me. Thanks |

TiRant is a little quieter and mounts are harder to come by. Octane is easier to clean and more mounting options and possibilities. This. I've got two Octane 45's, a 45k, and four different TiRANT's (two 9, a 9s, and a 45s). The TiRANT's are quieter but the Octane's are easier to clean. Both are solid cans. Pick what's more important to you. |

Ti-Rant M Ti-Rant 45M is 2-3dB quieter than the standard Ti-Rant 45 due to a couple improvements. And yes it does take longer to clean by about 60-90 seconds... |

Correct me if I'm wrong, Octane 45 has17-4 stainless baffles, TR M has aluminum baffles. If that matters to you. Me bought some TRM 45 and Obsidian 45, they are still in the NFA jail. Partially true. Edit: The AAC Ti-Rant 45M The base section (closest to the firearm) is 17-4 Stainless Steel, the short, end section is 7075 T6 Aluminum, down where there is almost zero blast wear. |

With the release of the Rugged Supressors Obsidian, all other .45ACP Supressors went obsolete... |

The obsidian does appear to be a great can though, and I'll probably end up with one at some point. |

While the Obsidian appears to be a fine can, I'd hardly consider all others to be obsolete in comparison. I personally don't need, or necessarily want, a convertible suppressor can. Why not? Well, because I'll never use the full size configuration. In its K configuration, the Obsidian, from the data I could find, does not suppress as well as the Octane 45K. Why would I want to pay more for a feature that I'll never use, a can that would not suppress as well, and one that is over an ounce heavier in its K configuration? From my perspective, and my wants/needs, the Obsidian is actually inferior. Plus, I think it's pretty darn ugly. |

The DB in the K configuration is about the same; the Surge is shorter than the the Octane 45K. As for being more expensive I just paid $655 for an Obsidian about the same as I did for my Revo 45. |

Yeah the avg DB are the same, but, I guess it's the FRP that I didn't like about the Obsidian. |
