Specifically in regards to the SICO Hybrid (pending stamp);

I've already bought a 1/2x28 XL piston for use on a beretta 9mm.  However, I also have a lever gun threaded in 1/2x28 with (obviously) a fixed barrel.

Can I use a fixed barrel spacer with the the 1/2x28 piston and mount suppressor on my lever gun?  The other option is a fixed 1/2x28 mount which is more than twice as much.

Yes, but I personally would go with a fixed mount.  Sure it's more money, but you're going to be taking the can apart to swap the fixed mount with the spring anyway.  Why fiddle with a kludge instead of just doing it right with a shorter more mechanically solid mount?  Over $50-75? On a $1000 solution....penny wise, pound foolish, IMNSHO.

The FBS leaves less mess in the blast chamber than the fixed mounts, which makes it easier to use a piston the next time.

Ahhh, good to know!  Just due to the extra distance from the muzzle?  So the extra length may buy something?

Due to the fact that if the piston isn't in place, all the notches are left bare to get filled with junk...plus the fact there's no "tunnel" for all the stuff to travel down into the suppressor body.

Yes, most pistons have slots so you can get carbon buildup anyway, but with the fixed mount there's nothing at all between the muzzle the rest of the suppressor.

Ok, so it sounds at least feasible.  I need to look more into it but I have lots & lots of time to figure it all out while waiting.

Is there a caliber limit to using the spacer?  I want to go up to .357 magnum.  Google is silent on the issue.

I doubt it - I'm pretty sure it matches up with what the Octane/Osprey can handle. Silencerco's spacer is made form 17-4 stainless steel and then heat treated.

Agree with this.

Go with a direct thread mount on the lever gun.

I'm a strong believer that doing things with the smallest amount of items possible is the best option.  One solid part is almost all better than 3 parts doing the same thing.

SICO told me via email just now that .357 is acceptable with the spacer.

I'm tempted to as it looks simple but I'm just going to pay their ridiculous price for a spacer and avoid any warranty issues.   I do think I'm going to use the spacer + 1/2x28 piston for my .357 lever gun and skip buying the direct mount.

The Griffin Armament spacer is more affordable, but I don't know if it will work for you.  I made two copper spacers, two aluminum, and two steel.  I am still using my first aluminum spacer and have had zero issues.

Does anyone know if the Griffin spacer and the Silencerco are interchangeable?  I have the Griffin spacer and it is 1.252" long and .990" OD and .871" ID.

The .871 ID on the griffin spacer might be too small for a silencerco piston

For some reason I thought Griffin and sico had same pistons

The Silencerco pistons are supposed to work in the Revolution.  I have a Revolution and an Osprey so I will see if my Griffin spacer will fit on my Silencerco pistons tonight.  I suspect they will.  I'm curious as to what the Silencerco spacers measure out to be (length, OD, ID).

The Griffin spacer fits loosely on the Silencerco pistons just as it fits loosely on the Griffin pistons. I found the measurements of the Silencerco spacer in another thread.

Griffin spacer:
1.252" long
.990" OD
.871" ID.

Silencerco spacer:
1.240" long
.940" outer diameter
.065" thick
.805 inner diameter
