I have a few Dead Air cans on order, one of which being the 45 cal can but I do not have any pistols with a threaded barrel other than a 22. I want to pick up my first suppressor host pistol and I'm torn between a Sig P320 Carry 9mm or a USP 9 SD. P320 I can get on their mil pricing for around 550 and the USP seems to be around 800. I already have a USP 40 compact as my nightstand gun so I know and love the ergos of the USP platform. The Sig does feel great in the hand though.

Another one for get a threaded barrel. Tell us what you have and we can point you in the right direction.
Keep in mind that with 9 mm and .40 much off the shelf ammo will not be subsonic or could be borderline depending on the barrel length. With .45 most(but not all) will be subsonic. If you don't reload this could affect availability of ammo that will perform best for you. |

Like many others I'd just suggest getting a threaded barrel for whichever one if your current pistols that you'd like to shoot suppressed, not the other way around.
I would also suggest staying away from the compact or sub compacts if you have a choice - usually a slightly larger pistol/regular size pistol will cycle better with a full size can hanging off the muzzle. If you have a shorter or modular can it will probably cycle better, but G19's and G26's aren't notoriously great hosts for full size cans, for example. And this isn't bashing on glock either, just using two pistols that most everyone could identify with and relate to size wise. |
