Out playing with the M1A and the HVT-QM and did a POI shift comparison with and without the can.  First, I'm a lousy shot.  My dominant eye needs some glasses.  But, there's a clear shift up and right without the HVT.

Also, don't know if it makes any difference, but also installed a Schuster adjustable plug on the rifle today.  Dialed it in for suppressed, and that turned the unsuppressed rifle into a single-shot (not enough gas without the can).  Been thinking maybe to just keep the standard gas plug with the rifle, and swap it out if shooting unsuppressed?

If that was at 25 meters, I would have the threads on the rifle checked.  The POI with my bushmaster 308 with a liberty chaotic doesn't shift anywhere near that much at 100 yards

I have had similar results with my SDN6 regardless of host

The group is fine and no keyholing. Your threads are probably fine. I'd be interested to see the same test done with a different can.

That POI shift is aggressive but not unheard of.

Does your hvt-qm wobble on the bi lock. I am about to send mine to gemtech for excessive Suppressor  wobble. One of my bi lock flash hider is worse than the other. I'm just curious if your having the same issue

This is the quickmount version.  And an M1A.  And no baffle strikes.

Your POA for the unsuppressed group is the far right circle, correct?

ETA unsuppressed

No, I wouldn't say it wobbles.  It's fitment is the same as the G5 I have with the quickmount for 5.56.

I will say I barely got the damn thing off the rifle to shoot unsuppressed;  turns out I had carbon buildup that was gumming the spring as well as interfering with the tolerances between the mount and the can.  Shot a little oil in there, pushed and wiggled, and it finally broke free.  There is NOT much room between the mount OD and the can ID.

No, POA was the left circle.  The rifle more or less is battlesight-zeroed (POA at the center of the circle, POI centered on the line above) .

Ack!  No, my POA for the unsuppressed was the right-most circle.

That shift isn't that bad then. Keep blasting.
