I am considering permanently attaching my gemtech trek to my 11.5 upper-- I have a 16 inch Middy but I have not had a desire to put the trek on that and have been happy shooting the 11.5 solely

What are the cons to permanently attaching this? ( The biggest pro for me right now is no SBR stamp)

And what is the easiest way to do it (DIY)?

Dr. Dater told me 1100* silver solder will hurt the barrel and the can.

Pin and weld is easily $100

Might lose a patch in the can when cleaning the barrel

Can't change your proprietary rail or get a new gas block

Youll regret pinning a silencer to 1 gun IMHO.

Better to pony up for the SBR stamp

The caveat is that it would be understandable if you have a handful of cans and SBRs and really do want a suppressed 10.x without filling out forms to travel or such.
