My TranQuilo is awaiting my Form 4 and sitting at my FFL, but he said he'd go to the range with me tomorrow so I could get some time with the TQ on my .556 and 308.    But I need some ideas from the hive on mounting the 308 brake to a heavy profile barrel.

The design of the brake doesn't allow the inside shoulder of the brake to contact my barrel.  Instead, the rear of the brake makes contact with the barrel and does not allow the shims to contact the inner shoulder and provide tension unless I stack them about 20 deep. I could time the brake using a lock washer or a regular washer, but I'm not sure they would work properly for the long term.  Anyone have a suggestion?  TIA.
