41P has me wanting to decide on a 22 can and a pistol can this week. My local dealer has a Griffin checkmate TM, a surefire Ryder 22 A, and a Silencerco Spectre 22 all in my price range. Which would you go with and why?

The same dealer has a Griffin armament revolution nine and a Griffin armament revolution 45 as choices for a pistol can. What has been your experience with these cans? Should I get the 45 just to have that option in the future? Or would the sound suppression on a nine millimeter pistol be that much better by the revolution 9?

Thanks for the help!

Spectre II for the work horse .22lr
I'd only buy the checkmate if it was the QD 3 lug

Definitely get a redo 9/45 depending on your needs.

Do you already have suppressors, or are you looking to buy your first two?

If it's your first two, I'd do the Spectre II and Revolution 45.

If you already have a 45 can, I'd swap to the Rev 9. Rimfire would be a toss-up if you already had one...but the Spectre is an excellent first (or second or third) rimfire can.

I'd go Spectre II, but I have a Silencerco bias since they're just a few blocks from me.

I have a Sparrow myself.

I just recently bought my first suppressor in October. It's a dead air sandman-s. Of course, I'm still waiting.

This will be my first .22 and pistol can.

Spectre II and Revo 9 or 45 depending which caliber you need. Not a fan of shooting sub-caliber.

The Spectre 22 seems to be the consensus pick for the rim fire can. What is special about it? Db reduction, toughness, mounting system, etc.?

I can't think of a better combo to start.

I do not currently own a 45. I have a couple 40's and a couple 9's. None have threaded barrels, but will.

Does that change the pistol can choice?

Thanks for all the help so far.

My Revolution 45 is plenty quiet with 9mm.  I find the smaller size a more compelling reason to buy a specific 9mm suppressor.  But running the Griffin in the K configuration really negates that advantage.  You can use a 9mm endcap to really quiet it down.

I've just about decided I will go with a SilencerCo Spectre and a Griffin Revolution 45
