i was looking for a suppressor that can cover my 45acp and 9mm, i was watching the video on the Osprey45 and saw that the 40cal. worked. what are you guys thoughts on suppressing the 10mm. i was looking at the Griffin Armament revolution 45 and the SilencerCo Osprey 45. i handled a FNX45 tactical with the Osprey and the AAC Tirant at a local shop, i could barely tell the difference with the Osprey45 on the pistol, the AAC seemed to not "balance" out as well. anyways, i would like you guys honest input, thanks

looks like there are several barrel sources for my Glock 20, so that shouldn't be an issue

I had a Glock 20 and was going to add a threaded barrel but to many people advised there was little point to suppressing the 10mm.  Since I already had a Glock 17 and a Glock 21 suppressed,  I decided to put the money towards a can for my new 10.3" 300BO build.

I have the AAC TiRant 9 on my Glock 17 gen2 and the Glock 21 is waiting on a AAC TiRant 45 which just began its sentence.  The Rant 45 is a long can at 8.75".  Don't know how long the Osprey.

I was planning on running a Gemtech GM-45 on the Glock 20 because its rated for 10mm.

I will be looking for an older full size 1911 .45 that I can throw a threaded barrel into.

I am pretty happy with mine.

I am using an Osprey40, and I threaded an Glock 6 inch hunting barrel, putting it in lwd Tactical slide. I also have a LWD 40S&W conversion BBL so I can shoot 40S&W or 10mm.

Bah, naysayers will say nay. That's like saying there's little point to suppressing 5.56.

The louder it is, the more it needs a silencer - not less. Go for it, OP. If you already have a .45 silencer, barrels are cheap. If you don't like it, sell the barrel for $30 less than what you paid for it.

I'm planning on getting a threaded barrel for my Glock 20 so I can use my Octane 45 on it. A lot of factory 10mm is watered down to .40 level anyway. I have chrono'd some American Eagle 180gr. FMJ and Blazer 200gr. TMJ. Both were subsonic from my gun. I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard Prvi 180gr. is also subsonic. If you hand load, it would be no problem loading subsonic ammo yourself.

Ignore the naysayers, the 10mm is an excellent and versatile cartridge with loads from mild to wild.

outstanding, thanks for info. i agree with the practice stuff being down loaded, you really can feel the difference when shooting certain brands of ammo

I shoot my glock 20 with my Octane 45 with full house loads. Its not super quiet, but its way fun. Ignore the naysayers, go for it. Even supersonic guns are much quieter suppressed. I do get quite a bit more blowback than 9mm though.

will the 10mm tri lug mount work with the existing HK thread protector? I know gemtech's raptor 10mm came with a replacement thread protector to provide a tighter lockup surface.

It will work with existing thread protector. We thread lock ours on as they tend to come loose with rapid fire.

The 3 l ug for 10mm was paterned after HK barrels and Michaels machines and RCM barrels. Coharie, bobcat, etc might need some Dremel work to fit. Essentially knocking corners off the 3 lugs to get the mount to fit over.
