So about a month ago I fired about 5 rounds through a ps90/sparrow combo and those are the only rounds ever  through this sparrow.

Today was the first time Ive disassembled the sparrow since that day and to my surprise I had a baffle strike, minor but a baffle strike nonetheless.

It peeled a small amount of material back on the very last baffle, left some copper fragments inside, and Im just trying to figure out why.

The firearm is a SBR'd Ps90 done by Tros.  Im guessing my problem is that I screwed the sparrow directly onto his 1/2x28 threads and didnt get an adapter for the Sparrow's own threads?

It's been awhile since I've looked at the TROS PS90 adapter threads, but if they are longer than 0.438", then you probably ran it into the o-ring on the Sparrow which may have caused misalignment and your baffle strike.

If you had the SBR with the threads shown below, this is NOT the right thread pattern for the Sparrow.  You should have had them cut the threads to the SilencerCo pattern or at least a .400" pattern:

Thats unfortunately what I realized, after the fact.  Well that sucks because the extra length of a 1/2x28-1/2x28 adapter doesnt sound very appealing.

I would upload a few pictures but its been awhile since Ive been on my photobucket account.  If it would be a bad baffle strike will Silencerco fix it?

TROS also makes a Silencerco o-ring engagement adapter - I believe BigWaylon has one.

Will Silencerco fix it? I believe their policy is that they warranty stupid once ... So if it's bad enough, send it in. Otherwise wait until you have a more major "stupid".

TROS makes both...he sent me the wrong one and I snagged a pic after the correct one arrived before I sent the wrong one back.

Can I use the Sparrow specific one with a 5.56 can? Or are the threads to short for use on the 5.56 can?

Yes.  Yes you can.  The can might be difficult to install on a true 5.56 after you use it, though, as the threads will have some carbon on them.

That makes sense.  Thanks
