I am finally going to dive into the NFA world with my first suppressor.  Here is the deal, my local shop, which has always been good to me, is offering a deal where you buy a NFA item from them and they will do your trust for free.

I have settled on a 22 Suppressor and think I am going with the Silencerco Spectre II.  My questions all align around the trust.  I have asked a lot of questions but want to know what else I should be looking for from them or information concerning the trust?  I dont know what should be in a trust or what I should be looking to get from them?  What questions should I ask?

They informed me that I need to have a main person on the trust and I can add others - who can be in possession of said items, and then I need to add two beneficiaries.  That is all and they will handle the rest.

As a follow up, once all this goes down and I have a trust, what do I do when I get a second suppressor?

you buy it and send in two copies of your trust. Same as you will this time...
Two beneficiaries seems bullshit

Honestly, it's almost impossible for us to tell you what to look for within the specific trust you are getting - however the "two beneficiaries" requirement makes it sound like they don't know what they are doing.

When you get your second suppressor, do the same as he first. Two copies of the Form 4, a check and a copy of your trust.

I am fairly certain they said I "had" to have to beneficiaries, but I could had heard wrong.  I am going back to ask some more questions before I pull the trigger with them.    Beyond my wife, I would potentially list my daughter as a beneficiary - but she is only 1.5yrs old.

Is there any issue/danger in getting a trust made by them, rather then going to a random trust lawyer or buying one of the deal $99 trusts?

Post up in your Hometown forum. There are plenty of TX NFA trust attorneys that work with members here.

Yes, you have to a have beneficiary. You just don't have to have two. A trust is simply an entity to hold property for the purpose of passing it on to a beneficiary...without that beneficiary, you don't really have a trust.

I sign the back of the F4, sign the duplicate copy citizenship form , send a $200 USPS money order and two copies of my stupid 17page trust including a schedule A with the original item only listed.

You do not need two.  I am just getting into the sickness and have my first in jail...

We will see if the gearhog deal is successful on the trust front.

It's gets even funnier...not only do you not need a CoC at all, when they are required it's just a single copy per F1/F4/F5.  And only one copy of the trust per envelope, including when there are multiple forms included.

Your dealer is way out of bounds...not just in the rough.

TWO copies of the Form 4. ONE copy of the trust. And a check for $200. That's it.

Now that I think about it, I have been sending two trust copies since my first can which wasn't this same dealer.

I wouldn't be as concerned about the ATF accepting your trust as I would be about it being valid in your state.  I had mine done by an attorney and it varied greatly from my friend's Silencer Shop trust.  Each state has different trust laws.
