Recent activities have proven how handy am I certainly not.  This has lead me to believe that I am best suited buying a commercial suppressor.  I think I've narrowed it down to an AAC SDN-6 or Griffen Recce 7.  I want a compact .30 cal suppressor that I can also toss on my 556 rifles but for under $1000 including stamp. Anyone have any specific knocks against one or the other from personal experience?

I know about the possible SDN-6 wobble.  I'm also open to other suggestions but $1000 is the strict maximum.

the sakeris a good one also.
I like my N-6,the whole wobble thing is blown out of proportion IMO. My N-6 doesn't move at all and my mini 4 also.

Eta: it's a little above your price range.

What barrel lengths for the 5.56 guns?

Honestly you can find an N6 for like $500 right now if you look around. It's still a good can, just an "out dated" mounting system. You could probably find a saker762 in that $800 range If you looked hard enough. Also I completely understand your max budget (I probably make less cash than you) but it's really not good to buy any NFA item based on budget. It's a lifetime purchase. Really think about if it's worth the extra money before you buy something. I've made the mistake twice now on suppressors. Just get the one you want. Period.

I've read some really good reviews about the recce 7.  Griffens taper mount is supposed to be pretty nice.   The specwar 762 would also be well within your budget but it definitely isn't compact.

Of the two, I'd pick the Griffin.  When comparing the specs, they are very close but, I prefer the taper mount.

I'm looking to pop my NFA cherry on a suppressor that fits the same requirements.  I've been eyeing the Silencerco Omega, and it might be worth a look for you.
