Is the element 2 really that hard to clean?

I'm looking for a .22 suppressor mostly for a reason ruger 22/45 mkIII. I have read that the element 2 is one of the best pistol suppressors available but the k baffles can be a pain to remove and clean especially if it's real dirty. I know they make a special tool to help remove the baffles if needed. But is it still as bad as some make it sound?

I like how easy the silencerco sparrow looks to clean but the mono core doesn't seem to do as well with a pistol, and frp. It's also heavier.

Are there any others I should be looking at? Light weight, minimal frp, quietest on a pistol.

I love mine. I have only cleaned it a few times and haven't gone more than a few hundred rounds between cleanings. With that said the only issue with taking it apart is the with the lead build up it makes it hard to push the baffles out of the tube.

I have only gone a few hundred rounds and didn't have much trouble getting the baffles out but I could see if you went 1,000 rounds in between cleaning where it might become an issue. Just a little tap on the baffles and they come out after a few hundred rounds.

The Element 2 is super quiet, light, and has no FRP. I think it's one of if not the best all around .22 cans on the market and goes perfectly with a 22/45 Lite.

No, it's not that hard to clean.  By comparison, it's not as easy to clean as my Sparrow.  The manual says you can go 1000 rounds between cleanings, but I take mine apart after @ 500-600 and the baffles pretty much slide right out.  I figure at 1000 I might actually need the pusher to get them out.

I got the Sparrow for rifles and the Element for pistol use, but it's just as good on a rifle.  If I could only have one, I'd take the Element.  That 2 ounces of extra weight is significant on a light pistol, and I don't care for FRP.  The cleaning is not as easy but I'll take that trade.  I did NOT want aluminum, as I use an ultrasonic.

Hope that helps.

For what it's worth, when mine get hard to get out I use a wooden dowel and a hammer to push them out.

Not hard to clean at all. You can use the dip or tumble the baffles if you need that level of clean. If the baffles don't slide out, use the included pusher. IMHO, the Element and Element II are 2 of the best rimfire cans available.

Did you all get the pusher tool with your Element 2? Mine did not come with one.

Mine came with the tool. It works great.

I tumble my baffles in SS with a little soap.

No suppressor is easy to clean. Some are easy to take apart and some are not so easy to get apart. The Element 2 is not as easy to take apart as a couple other on the market but it is by no means hard to get apart.

As for cleaning the Element uses stainless baffles that can be cleaned using any of the popular methods (dip, tumbler, ultra-sonic, soda blasting) without harming them.

I buy silencers to silence, not because it is easy to clean or easy to take apart.

Mine also came with one, and an end cap removal tool. Bought from Silencer Shop.

Doing a little more research I found that tactical solutions makes a suppressor, the axiom, with a split tube and baffles. I can't find much info on it other than 40db rating on silencershop which isn't quite as good as the element 2. Plus it is longer and heavier. Does anyone known more about it? How is cleaning titanium baffles compared to stainless?

The surefire ryder 22a looks cool. I like the way it goes together. But I don't think I want aluminum baffles.

Has no one made a silencer that incorporates everything? The performance, durability, and weight of the element 2 with the ease of disassembly of a split tube design?

I'm still new to all of this. There could be one I don't know about.

There's always a trade off.  No one can does everything perfectly.

That's why you need several!

Right.

I just know I probably won't be as good with cleaning as I should be. Or I don't want to bring it somewhere for the weekend and shoot a bulk pack or two through it and want to keep shooting but worrying about if I'll be able to get the damn thing apart later.

I'm thinking the extra length and weight of the axiom might be worth it. I just would like to find some more info on it.

The Element isn't that hard to clean, and it's really quiet. Just get the pusher tool and you'll  be good to go.
Also, tumbling with stainless media is the way to go.

The pusher comes with the supressor. I opened 2 of them today. Go with the Element I rotary tumble my room mates clean.
