Can anyone tell me from experience if one adapter is better than another? Suppressor will be a Sparrow and I want the o ring adapter. Just wondering if the Silencerco, EFK, or the several others make a difference.

This has been covered before.  I have the EWK adapter and am satisfied.  I have not heard good things from the SiCo adapter.  There is a thread on the S&W forum that goes VERY in depth on this subject.  Also, I see that you are new here.  It is considered good etiquette to put a descriptive title on your thread.  Vague titles normally piss me off, but I see you probably haven't been ranted at before, so I'm going easy.

Proper etiquette duly noted. I have seen previous threads but I was just curious any updated info after prolonged usage. Will definitely checkout the S&W thread. Thanks

I have the adapters from SiCo on my full size M&P 22 and my GSG 1911-22. They drug their heels on making one for the Compact, and I ended up picking up the Twin Tech. I prefer it over the other two (EWK and SiCo) based on the fact I can use a standard wrench to install it. Haven't had any issues that make me regret the purchase.

The weird thing about it is SiCo's adapters don't actually meet their own specs...while my TT (for 22C) and TROS (for PS90) adapters do meet the SiCo specs.

I have the EWK.  I like it very much.  I like that you use a 1/4in allen to install it.  The  m&p 22 compact is my favorite pistol host for the  sparrow.

I use the EWK reluctantly.  I would prefer the Silencerco one I bought but it seems to index off the end of the muzzle and not the barrel shoulder leaving a visible gap.  Also can't properly tighten it because S&W saw fit not to include a barrel wrench.  I'm not paying 20 plus dollars for the one on the net either.

Same goes for any message board anywhere.  Email subject lines, too.

Can you not just use a regular wrench?

Do do it properly you need a wrench that fits the notches in the thread cap/ adaptor.  This differs between makes of guns.  I did use vise grips to remove the factory thread cap(it was super tight).  Also buggered it up some but I don't care as it's never going back on.

S&W now sells the compact with the thread adapter included.

S&W also sells a thread adapter kit now. It comes with a thread adapter, thread protector and a wrench. Msrp is $39 I think. I just got mine today. Seems quality,  but I haven't shot with it yet.  I know there are cheaper adapters, but I wanted the wrench and like the idea of oem parts. I don't need the oring engagement.

Agreed. In my case the kit was perfect, but I almost ordered another brand adapter before I found out about the S&W kit  and I would have needed just the wrench.
