Maybe dumb question, but: It appears this is a brake that does not need to be timed/indexed, just like their traditional FH. Does anyone know if that's correct?
Thanks! |

Probably, but it's not a suppressor adapter so that's most likely why it needs no shims. From Surefire's website It serves as a rock-solid mounting adapter for all SureFire SOCOM Series 5.56mm Fast-Attach® suppressors, including our SOCOM556-RC model, which placed first in the most extensive and rigorous suppressor testing ever conducted by US Special Operations Command. To answer the OP's question... The picture on Surfire's site shows ports on the top and sides but not on the bottom so it does need to be timed. Larger picture and viedo here |
