Maybe dumb question, but:  It appears this is a brake that does not need to be timed/indexed, just like their traditional FH.  Does anyone know if that's correct?

Thanks!

Probably, but it's not a suppressor adapter so that's most likely why it needs no shims.

I'm pretty sure I read that it is a QD adapter, will have to check again later...

From Surefire's website
It serves as a rock-solid mounting adapter for all SureFire SOCOM Series 5.56mm Fast-Attach® suppressors, including our SOCOM556-RC model, which placed first in the most extensive and rigorous suppressor testing ever conducted by US Special Operations Command.

To answer the OP's question... The picture on Surfire's site shows  ports on the top and sides but not on the bottom so it does need to be timed.

OP,

My bad dawg.  I was thinking the ProComp series.  I will beat myself about the head, neck, shoulders, and back.  That's what I get for posting while tired.

I'm in the Apache qualification course so I'll just have the IP do it...
