I currently have in my trust
1. $100 2. XXXXX lower My question is how should I add the suppressor to my Schedule A before uploading the documents if I don't actually have it built (since I would need the stamp)? Maybe I don't add it? Also when going through the application what do you all put as MODEL, UNIT OF MEASURE, and OVER ALL LENGTH? I am going to base my build on a 7.6" Ti tube. Should be around 8.5" with caps. Thanks! |

You don't need to put anything on the Schedule A at this point. For model, unit of measure and overall length, you put the applicable info for your build. I don't have a model though as I will converting a solvent tube once my Form 1 stamp arrives. Caliber would be 7.62, Unit of measure would be MM and OAL would be 8". Would I be safe to put my model as N/A? |

"Model" is an if designated item.
You can create whatever model name you want. The items you see in the dropdown menu are what others have chosen to use for Model. EForms won't let you leave it blank, though. On all my Pending forms, I used N/A, and don't plan on engraving that as a model. That's the terminology on all my F4s for barrel length, so I'm banking on the examiner accepting it. We'll see. The unit of measure is for the caliber. If you're filing for 7.62/5.56/etc, choose mm...if you're filing as 30/308/223/etc, choose caliber. OAL is in inches. You don't need to put the decimal in a caliber like 308 or 300 or 22, but you can put it in the 5.56 or 7.62. You don't need the " mark for OAL after you type the number of inches. |

Others have done that...but I still think it sounds like a horrible idea. Quoted:

I am going to put 12" on mine like others have done. Others have done that...but I still think it sounds like a horrible idea. I agree. While technically legal I tried to get as close to finished length as I could when submitting my forms. |

I agree. While technically legal I tried to get as close to finished length as I could when submitting my forms. I don't even know that it's "technically" legal. You're supposed to build it to the specs provided. Those submitting 12" have no plans of building to 12". Maybe 10" max for most cans. Minor shortening is allowed for when threads have to be cut off and the tube rethreaded due to damage...and going from 12" down to 8" is a lot of cutting and rethreading. I'd have no issue filing for 9" and the build ending up 8.5"...but to file as 12" and have it 7"-9" just doesn't work for me. Round it up to the next inch. |

I guess I could go with 10" or even 9" and still be within reason. Again, that's just my take on it. If you don't think you'll be over 9", I'd file it that way. And with a 7.6" tube, I can't image any end cap more than .5" thick. Don't get me wrong...I've filed some 1"-2" longer than they'll probably end up, but the 12" just doesn't seem reasonable. |
