| I have 10.5" SBR, it ran perfect with an H2 buffer, until I started running it suppressed. It now seems to not cycle fully about 2 to 3 times out of 10. The bolt won't go back all the way into battery,it gets stuck with the next round fed about halfway out of the magazine, or the BCG gets stuck rearward and I have to pull the charging handle back about a 1/4" and then the gun will cycle the next round and return to battery. I have tried multiple magazines and have lubed the bolt well. I have since switched to an H3 buffer to help with the gun being overgassed (ejecting brass at 2 o clock on h2 buffer) but the cycling issues continue. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. |

You may need to get a lighter buffer.....Try a regular carbine buffer and see if that helps. Usually a suppressor will add to the available gas, but every gun is different. Try every weight of buffer you can and see what works....if nothing works, we can move on from there
EDIT:....what caliber???? |
|
Adjustable gas block would cut down on the gas.
Im not sure why it is getting stuck back. You are not being very descriptive in the malfunctions you are having. Me guessing, the FTF is due to the bolt carrier out running the magazine in which you are getting a bolt over base of the cartridge type of malfunction. Less gas in the system would fix this |

He either needs to up his spring weight or get an adjustable gas block since he is already up to a h3 buffer |

The bolt over the cartridge sounds exactly like what is happening. I know I shouldve taken pictures. No that's fine. Describe the bolt getting stuck to the rear however, this one has me stumped. Ive battled overgassing for a long time and I have had bolt over base malfunctions, but never the bolt getting stuck to the rear. Your options to fix this problem heavier spring 9mm buffer Adjustable gas block( I recommend against using anything that has a set screw for adjustment of the system as I have had horrible luck with them) Govnah gas block(currently using one and it works well), IA WAR upper( had one on my 12.5 and it was great) Adjustable gas block is the surefire way to take care of this problem, The govnah or the WAR upper will make it much simpler to run both suppressed and unsuppressed as its a flip of a switch to add or decrease gas to the system. |

Well, it could be a SiCo, AAC or other can...
Fully agree with the Govnah gas block. |
| As far as the bolt getting stuck rearward (doesnt happen with near the consistency as the bolt over cartridge) but the bolt seems to act almost like its locking back on an empty mag. I have tried pressing the bolt release at first but this has no effect. I have to then pull the charging handle back about a 1/4" and then the BCG will spring forward back to battery. |

Fully agree with the Govnah gas block. Psh those are so overbored overgassing isn't a issue

is your buffer tube straight? buffer weight moving freely in the tube?
check for the action. empty and clear...pull the CH back and ride the bolt home slow, any binding? reason i say this is because ive seen some lower quality buffers/tubes has too much finish on them and the made the action bind |

I did not want to have an ADJ gas block at all. But after trying everything, ADJ gas block is the only route to get them to run both suppressed and unsuppressed reliably in my experience. Getting them to run only suppressed or unsuppressed isn't a bid deal in my experience. You could simply buffer it or spring it out. But don't expect it to run unsuppressed if you have it running optimally suppressed. The only way to get it to run optimally both suppressed and unsuppressed is by controlling and adjusting the gas flow |
