I'm new to suppressers, and here's my plan in order. Any advice is greatly appreciated! 1. Trust 2. 45 caliber can to work with my 45, 40, and 9mm 3. 30 caliber can to work with my 556 (currently have) and 308 (that I will eventually get) 4. Dedicated 22 can How much am I sacrificing by getting a larger caliber can to work with multiple caliber firearms? Can you buy stamps without immediately knowing what you're going to use them for? I've been lurking in this forum for awhile, but any other advice as far as online trust or in person, which cans work best for which calibers, QD or threaded barrels on the hosts, and anything else that you want to throw at me. Thanks so much for your help and time! |

2. Sure hope you meant 45 caliber can
You don't just "buy stamps". You submit an application for a particular silencer, including the serial number. The bigger caliber can will lose some suppression because of the bore being larger...but usually gain some because the volume is probably larger on the bigger cans. Performance will be similar, it'll just most likely be longer and/or heavier than the correct caliber can. |

Do you get to do much .22 shooting anymore? People say to buy a .22 first since it will suppress the best and will impress you the most - like Hollywood quiet.
I have .45s but shoot 90% 9mm so I bought a a dedicated 9mm first. I don't have a .308 but I have a 762 AR receiver set and a .300blk barrel lying around. I wanted a 762 can before a 556 but I couldn't pass up those recent $379 specwar's. My next can needs to be 762... |
