What are your thoughts on the Saker 762 versus the AAC sdn-6 or AAC SR.-7?
I am thinking about getting one but want to here your input. |
| The AAC cans ore good cans, but the Silencerco cans are this generations hot stuff. A lot has to do with their customer service and support is of the highest caliber...which puts them in the lead. If you haven't purchased the saker just yet, give it a week or 2 to see Mike Papas' Dead Air Armament has to offer. The first can they are releasing is the Sandman 762 in 3 flavors...long, short, and Ti. Silencer Shop has a write up on their website about those cans. Check them out. |
| I just received my Saker 762, it is awesome, I've been very happy with it and the Saker 556 I already had. I actually had bought the SDN6 first, but cancelled it when the Saker 762 became available. Compared to the SDN6, the Saker has multiple mounting options, all of which are superior to the AAC 51T. The 51T has been replaced by the 90T, so I would consider that before buying a SND6 which is being phased out by AAC. The SR7 is new and uses the 90T mount, but I don't think anyone actually has one in hand yet, so there is not much info out there about it. It uses Inconel baffles where the Saker uses Stellite which is supposed to be stronger than Inconel. I think right now the SR7 is just kind of an unknown since it's so new. I definitely like the Saker better than either. |

The dead air armament is intriguing for sure... OP, my vote is Saker 762 and this is a NO BRAINER, IMO. |
| Just got mine Friday. May shoot it later this afternoon. What I have noticed is that the 51t mount I bought it with secures by the screw on and stops. It doesn't rachet. Then you turn the lock and it's very rigid and locked in place. If you guys have 51t mounts, I think you will be surprised and will really like it |

Anyone with Sakers here have the problem some have reported with the can not wanting to come off the mounts when fired either (a) for the first time or (b) when allowed to cool?
I got to handle a 556 Saker yesterday, and was very impressed with the weight, machining, finishing and particularly how it attaches and detached from the mount. |

I fired it for the first time this week. I tried to unmount while it was still warm at the range. The unlocking mechanism for the teeth on the MAAD mount was stuck. I put a little more leverage into it when I got home and was able to get it off. |

FIFY. ASR is the Specwar Mount. He's using the Saker's 51T MAAD mount, and SiCo does offer an ASR MAAD mount as well if you want to use a Saker on a Specwar muzzle device. |

Correct. And the problem that some have had with the AAC SDN 6 won't occur on the saker. The silencerco mount is superior to the AAC 51t mount. although, I haven't had any problems with my SDN6. If you have some money invested in 51t mounts, don't think you will have to change everything over. I am happy with the saker attached to all my 51t mounts. No worries. |
