Last week I got my Sparrow in hand. After taking it to the range, I need another. The can gets so hot so quickly, it needs to have some time to cool or Ill never be able to get them off in time to make it back to work

I also have an Octane 45 on the way, went pending Dec 31st, so I still have a while. I know I can shoot 22 through this, but worry about weight.

I have come up with three solutions. And welcome more.

1. get another sparrow. Like the can, why not have two? However, its 6 oz.
2. get a Warlock II. Pain to clean, but half the weight. Haven't noticed the sparrows weight as an issue, so I am not sure a few oz is worth the effort to clean.
3. get an Octane 9. Easy to clean, same mounts as my Octane 45. Could use for 22, but it would be heavier than the sparrow.

What say y'all with more experience than I?

Thanks
Sean

The Spectre II would be my choice for a second can.

This.

Or, since you have a Sparrow to handle the "other" stuff like .17, Hornet, 5.7...get a small lightweight can like the Element 2 (or the Warlock).

For me...I went with Spectre II first. I opted for an Octane 9 as my "backup" 22 can, and will also use it on 9mm AR and pistols.

Nothing to see here...move along...ignore the double tap.

I have a spectre II pending as my first.
I'd like a warlock or something like a thompson wasp as a second .22 can.

For my 2nd 22 can I was all set to get another Sparrow. And then I saw the AAC $200 rebate program. Now, I have two Pilt 2s in jail. They're not the best, and they only do 22lr, but they're OK and light. Plus, I bought both of those Pilots for the cost of one Sparrow. That's considering the rebate, and the fact that there's stuff I want from the AAC store. Plus, the Pilot 2s are very light.

If I could only get one, it'd be a Sparrow. But I'd rather have two Pilots than one Sparrow, as a backup. And, with three 22 cans, my boys and I can all shoot at the same time.

After playing I want to swap the warm can to another .22 host I bought a 2nd Kestrel 22.  My second one just got approved last week.  It is nice to not play that game any more.  My dealer has a customer that is moving to CA and has a Guardian waiting.  The customer wants to sell it and I might get it as well for a dedicated can for my Savage MKII.

I have a Sparrow and two Spectre II's. When I wanted recently to get something different I wound up with a Liberty Essence. Great if pricey can. If I hadn't go the Essence I would probably have gotten a YHM Stinger. Not too expensive and it comes apart easily etc.......

BTW it's the first result for a Google seach of "AAC $200 rebate program".

This.

I've had a Sparrow for about 2 years now, and just did the paperwork on a Spectre II to go with it.

Thanks for everyones input. In the mean time I think Ill get an Ovglove and wait for the Octane 45 to come in. I may also see if my dealer has an aluminum demo can I can test the weight of to see if it is worth the extra effort to clean. I am kinda leaning towards another sparrow and keep cleaning simple.

The Surefire Ryder is slick. If you get a chance to handle one in person you'll probably buy it.
That or another aluminum can as mentioned above.

I have .22lr suppressors from gemtech, aac and silencerco.  I'd buy another Silencerco Sparrow in a hearbeat.
