After finally getting my new suppressor, I wanted to switch out the FA with the neat little gas valve I found online.  Saved it to favorites.   Of course, then the computer dies, and my search-foo must be weak.   Anybody tell me what it is actually called or a link to website?  Thanks.

Love the idea of this but damn, they are proud of those little things!

They work phenomenally and no one else makes them. You pretty much have to pay the asking price.

Would there be any benefit to using this on top of the micromoa gas block or would that make it under gassed. I guess that wouldn't effect it though. It's just venting off already used gas

I tried it a long time ago and was half and half on it.
It worked and vented gas like it was supposed to, but in the long run, i would rather have my forward assist.

What happens if you just plug it......and seal up the charging handle... Gas will just be directed to the ejection port...right?

The gas will vent out other areas like where the charging handle and upper meet, which is the worst area for it t vent if you want to avoid "gas face".

Any way to mitigate that by sealing(RTV) the charging handle?

Been done many times, just build a little dam to divert the gas.  It's still going to come out, you just want to direct it away from your face, similar to how the GasBuster charging handle functions.

RTV charging handle
AR Gas Vent
Gasbuster CH

Awesome combination to avoid the gas

I used RTV on the charging handle, then just drilled a couple relief holes in the charging handle as well. No real need for the AR Vent after that

Sounds like a great way to solve the problem.  Do you have any picture of the charging handle that you modified?

If you drill a hole in the FA, will the FA still work as a FA?

I use rtv and the gas vent on my SBR and it works really well. I feel no matter what you do your always going g to get a little gas in the face. I was talking to a sf guy and he said he just uses a piece of tape that just kinda flaps over the upper/charging handle gap.

Depends on the location and size of the hole, I guess.  I'm sure that helps.

It would be pretty easy to mill a couple slots on the circumference without affecting function.

As a note, much of the gas that would be exiting the forward assist area is from the bolt carrier vents, while much of what exits around the charging handle is from the gas tube

I'm a lefty too and I don't think I'd like one of those on my rifle.

I have to say they work very well since my buddy (who owns Weapon's Outfitters) was running his gas vent and I was not.. had major gas face streak after a thousand rounds.  Though I did buy one, I never used it and eventually sold it.  Currently I'm restriction blowback through the gas block, ie SwitchBlock.
