I wrote to YHM to ask if they plan to offer an upgrade for the Mite to the baffle design of the Stinger and he gave me permission to post his response online. Here it is:
"Yes, probably in the late spring or early summer we will start to offer the conversion. Keep an eye on the website and as more information becomes available it will be noted on the website." Now I'm glad that I procrastinated getting the upgrade from The Sliencer Store. That one looks good too, but it needs a special tool set up to get it apart. The Stinger style baffle looks like it will be easier to get apart to clean than the Mite monocore, plus it should be quieter. |
| Having fired my silencerstore upgraded mite next to other shooters sparrows, outbacks, warlocks and other top silencer offerings, I can honestly say it hangs with and in some cases surpasses some to the top 22lr cans. Of course no metering was done, but many shooters including the owners of those cans were shocked to fnd out it was a mite. Total cost including original mite cost was 449 including the upgrade, and it was worth every cent. If the stinger meters as well as the top cans, it will be well worth the update. |

just watched the video on how to take apart a mite with their baffles, jesus, its WAY more complicated than the factory ones. That's why I'm going to send it to YHM for the Stinger type baffles instead as soon as their upgrade is available. The other upgrade looks like kind of a pain to take apart. |

Well, I paid $200 for my Mite, so I sure hope so. I'm thinking it will be $150. Quoted:

If they just exchange the core, use a similar end cap and keep it under $250 that would be great! Well, I paid $200 for my Mite, so I sure hope so. I'm thinking it will be $150. I got shafted and paid $300 for mine. I was just bouncing off the Silencer Shop upgrade price. If it's $150 that would be really nice. |

The way Silencer Shop writes it out, is you have to loose your current core due to it being a suppressor part. Unless you're a manufacturer you can't hang onto random suppressor parts. So you most likely have to send it in and they will keep the old core and give you the new goods with the old canister.
But no C3 paper work or ridiculous wait. |

Yankee Hill has always been known for good value. I'm hoping they deliver on this too. So just so I'm sure, you can get this upgrade and install it into an existing mite without any sort of legal problems/ paperwork hassels? They haven't officially announced details yet so no one is sure. |

Otherwise you'd need a new tax stamp unless you're a SOT, I think. I do plan to have this done once it is available. I thought it was a good idea to post about it now in case there were others procrastinating on the Silencer Store upgrade. |
