I always see the Surefire/AAC comparison come up, but how do the Knights Suppressors stack up? I'll be doing the paperwork on 3-4 cans this month so input is needed

Why am I considering it when the standard opinion of the board is: surefire from silencershop.com

Well I'll admit I'm borderline KAC fanboy, and I live pretty close to their old Vero Beach manufacturing facility / Lawman's... plus it would be a nice pair with the SR15 I picked up last year and the SR 25 I'll be picking up when my other rifles sell

So am I just being ridiculous?

The parts in question: KAC QDC (556 pictured)

Surefire SOCOM556-SB

Just to clarify: I'm looking at both the 7.62 and 5.56 knights/SF cans... And will be getting a 45 and 22 can from silencershop

I dont have either....but If I could go for a 1000 dollar can, I would buy the KAC NT4 LOVE THAT CAN!  So thats my vote.  Good luck and that is a great dilemma to have!

Is it just the looks?

The poll is overwhelmingly SureFire... And I just bought a MAMs device too

Seems the Surefire is beating up KAC on the poll, why is it so one sided?

SF is a known quantity but KACs new cans aren't.

Also surefire cans won the socom suppressor contract. Plus, surefire is known for the amazing CS.

I'd have to see more KAC cans in the wild for me to consider them.  I see Surefire cans everywhere, but KAC is still tougher to find an instocking dealer.  I'd also like to see more consumers give their own reviews.  Didn't the new cans just come out anyways?  I wouldn't expect anyone or at least the masses have them transferred/approved yet.

ETA:  Don't get me wrong, I have a few MAMS waiting for a suppressor.

From what I've heard the KAC suppressors are still using fairly old technology however they are very durable. While AAC and Surefire are both quieter. I personally went with AAC and am very happy with it. I'd go with Surefire over KAC though, unless you just want a KAC suppressor to match with your KAC rifles.

The other issue to consider is the means of attachment.  As far as I know each has their own proprietary muzzle brakes/suppressor attachment.  KAC aren't compatible with SF brakes and vice versa

I voted Surefire because I have some of them. I would see no issue buying the Knights to put on a Knights rifle, it's s 556 can so it's not going to be real quiet anyway.
