| I just picked up a Gemtech alpine .22 cal suppressor. I threaded it on my ruger 22/45 lite and put a few rounds of CCI standard velocity ammo downrange. POI shift with the suppressor installed was almost 1 foot up to the 11 o clock point, and this was at only 15 yards. Any Ideas? It groups fine, and there is no evidence of a baffle strike. |

It sounds like you're just going to have to adjust the sights and live with it.
The 22/45 Lite has a very lightweight barrel with a thin profile, and the Alpine is a relatively heavy 22LR suppressor. If it's grouping fine, then I would say it's just affecting the barrel harmonics and changing the POI that much. If it were a baffle/endcap strike, you would most likely notice the groups open up at 15 yards. If you have a .22LR with a bull barrel, try it with and without the suppressor. My guess would be that the POI shift will be much smaller than with the 22/45 Lite. |

Something is not concentric to the bore, threads on the barrel or maybe
the suppressor endcap threads. I have several aluminum barrels on Ruger pistols and have no POI change even with a all stainless can on the end. The barrel is too short to have that much droop with that all steel can at such a short distance. |

For what its worth, my Lite does the same thing with my Spectre which is 50% heavier than your Alpine. I think that is just the way it is...
Since I never shoot the pistol unsuppressed, it isn't a problem, I just adjusted the sights. It will hold decent, if not spectacular, groups at 50 yards. There is no evidence of baffle strikes or endcap rubs at all. If you aren't going to shoot without the can, I wouldn't worry about it. |
