It all depends. You want the AR look, then go for the S&W. Me, I'm biased as I own a 10/22 and it is amazingly accurate, even an out of the box plain jane KISS one. If I were you, buy a 10/22 and put on a threaded bull barrel, a nice rimfire glass, and a good varmint stock. I hear the CZ .22 is a good bolt gun too.
