| I have a new Gemtech G5-T suppressor. The 1st time I used it was last week and I had the opportunity to fire a box of 50 .223s through it. I noticed when the suppressor was removed from the quickmount adapter that a lot of the finish had come off the adapter leaving behind a shiny polished surface. Is this normal for a box of only 50 rounds? There has to be considerable movement of the G5-T to polish the finish off the adapter in my opinion. What do you all think, am I worried about nothing here? |

None of my bi-locks have lost their finish. Sometimes melted lead leaves a shiny residue that takes some cleaning. Have always been able to remove the lead and get down to the finish.
Pictures would be helpful. Nice choice in suppressor by the way. I love mine. |

It was difficult to get a good picture of a shiny surface but I did the best I could.

| My guess would be vaporized copper that has re-deposited on the tines, not damage to the finish on the mount. The mounting/un-mounting of the can might cause a little bit of finish wear, but it shouldn't be able to move at all during firing, unless incorrectly assembled (and then you'd have bigger problems). |

I'll give the flash hider a good scrubbing and see if things change. |
