| Well I want to get my first suppressor as a birthday present for my self am I've decided on a AAC. I have some of there other products and I feel they are top notch. This will he going on a ruger mk2 bull barrel 22. My question is what is the difference between the element and element 2? My class 3 dealer locally is pretty new to this so I might go somewhere else so questions for them is completely out of the question. So any help is appreciated. Also I think the next closest class 3 is ADCO so I know I can't go wrong with them. |

The end cap of the element 2 is supposed to have a flush fitting rear end cap. I also read that it will be semi-permenantly attached via red loc-tite or rock set. This should improve the looks slightly, as well as keep the rear end cap from staying on the gun when removing the suppressor.
Sound should be about the same. Go with whatever one you can get first. AAC is a great company with top notch products, but the time it takes for their products to hit dealers shelves can be a long wait and a bit of a mystery. Obviously this has a bit to do with NFA Form 3's, but there is also only so much production capacity. My element 1 is a really quiet can and is very durable. |

The Element II won't be out in a while. ( AAC is slow with everything they announce )
Besides the flush looking cap the new tube is TI and the price is lower to compete. It is one of the most quiet and consistent small/light suppressors for pistols but not so on rifles. Also look at the SWR Spectre II, heavier but much easier to clean and better service. ( and less $$) |
| Also, to add, there had been some talk about upgrading existing elements to the Element II rear cap, but not the new tube. Not sure when/how/how much, or even if they would do the upgrade over on silencertalk.com. AAC has done such upgrades in the past, so I'd mark that possibility down as at least hopeful but wouldn't make any decisions based on that bit of info. But seriously, the Element is VERY quiet on a pistol. I shoot one on my 22/45TB and there is zero first round pop, and it just keeps going and going. |
