Current Form 3 times > Silencers

Has anyone had a Form 3 transfer completed in the last week or so?

If so, how long did it take?

The vender told me 30 days, the shop i'm transferring to said 90.

The first one I did last September was exactly 4 weeks, the one I did in may took almost 2 months

I'm at 3 months waiting on a form 3...

Then had the ffl followup and resend, and I'm at 3 weeks on that.

My last one was almost 4 weeks to the day and it cleared the week before last.. Hopefully my three in process will be just about that same amount of time or quicker.

Are these times your dealers waiting on the can to be MFG'ed before shipping to them...or in stock from one dealer to another dealer? Mine was 3 weeks in stock at Allen Arms in SC to my dealer.

68 days from Major Malfunction to my dealer. My can arrived wednesday. Slow examiner, plus his volume I guess.

I had one in march than was approved in less than 3 weeks, but the mfg didn't send it to my dealer, and had their rep hand deliver last week.

I have 4 form 3's pending, and I think this is just stupid! A form 3 is from one trusted/pre approved/licensed dealer to another. This part of the process really needs to be automated, there is no excuse for it really. End rant...

I ordered from the manufacture, my dealer explained to me that they have to get premission from ATF before they actually build it. Huntertown 556 can must be popular for me to wait 4 months. My 22 can I waited 2 months to get to my dealer, same company.

I just purchased a can from silencer shop, took about 25 days to get the can transferred and shipped to my local C3 dealer

Just got an email today from silencer shop that the two suppressors I bought form them on 7/20/2012 are being shipped to my dealer here. Both of the cans I bought were in stock.

It's been a month since it was resubmitted. Emailed the FFL this morning and he CC'd me on his email to the ATF Examiner. Still nothing. By the time I get the form 4 going it will be the apocalypse...

back in February, it took 10-14 days from silencershop.com to my dealer.

what takes so long? Getting it to the dealer seems like the easy part

The process is done manually so what in theory should be easy gets slowed down just like everything else when there is a huge back log.

I don't know nor care, doge store the pot, they are awesome. I hope its always 2wks with them. Never wool I buy from anyone else.

TBAC's website says Form 3 average wait time is 40 days (was 60 days a couple months back)

I just found out the Form 3 to Palmetto State Armory, that I was ASSURED would go through, was returned "Incomplete" because they let their SOT expire.

great. have to start waiting all over again.

way to go PSA.

I recently purchased a Surefire 762SS from Sgcusa. It was around a 4-5 week turn around time from when I placed the order, the Form 3 was processed and my in state dealer received the suppressor.

So the Form 3 was around 4 weeks for me.

I dont know this Company but I can tell You that a lot of the time it has to do with ATF's inability to process SOT renewals in a timely manor.

Remember these are the same folks that are processing Your forms

One year I had a transfer that was taking forever and the Examiner I spoke with said "Your SOT is expired"!

I shook my head and faxed them a copy

On a side note My Form 3's have been taking 60-70 days.....

This is just for form 3's. Form 1 and 4 are having shorter wait times, but still around 6 months.

That's not true at all. Manufacturers don't need prior permission to build anything. A form 2 is filed AFTER the firearm/suppressor is manufactured.

I'm one week shy of 3 months and still no sign of the form 3 being approved. My dealer said the rep for the distributor wil be here this week and he will have a chat with him to see whats happening.
