I stumbled across a video of this yesterday. It seems like a good idea, and despite my initial impression of "screw that," it seems to be a decent and inexpensive way to have an adaptable platform for several different guns of several different calibers.

In the video they shoot a 5.45x39 through it. What do you guys think the filter would stand up to? 5.56? .308? I would think the .308 is stretching it, but then again I would have been hesitant to believe it would stand up to the 5.45x39 also... lol.

I'm sure a lot of it depends on the volume of the filter used... but only to a point.

I actually contacted these guys the other day re: a 24mm AK version, they are currently working on 7 total adapter sizes. It has the cheap fun factor.
Edit: they have an AR10 adapter so .308 should be OK. Call them.

I see Tom (the owner of Cadiz) every time I go the gun shows around Ohio. He's brought along the Econo can suppressor that you see in the video along with the rifle that they used it on. When I was talking to him last, I remember him saying they got about 200-300 rounds of FA use out of the filter before it was shot when using .223. They also sell the solvent trap adapters that are 1/2 x 28 threaded and threaded for an AR-10. IIRC they were going for ~$35 at the shows.
