Its obviously overgassed. First time out it would FTF with the bolt being over the base of the cartridge. This was with H2 buffer. Gun is a 12.5'' with a semi carrier, carbine gas system. Ive never had a problem out of this gun until I ran it suppressed. I always run it wet. Suppressor is m4-2000

So I ordered H3 buffer and new spring. Its pretty much cured the FTF, but not it doesnt always lock open. Ive tried several different mags

It almost always now seems to choke when its clean, Never when its dirty.

So what should I do?

What spring are you using?  It could be the combination of the H3 buffer and a beefier spring is now making it under gassed.  Maybe try the same spring but put the H2 buffer back in it?

Its for sure overgassed. Casings are going several yards forward of the gun to 1oclock and stripping duracoat off the shell deflector

Its just a standard carbine spring

I put 100 through it yesterday and it jammed a couple of times with the bolt being over the base of the cartridges. This only happened the first couple of rounds and then ran perfect, other than not always locking open on empty mag. I didn't clean it, just oiled it and shot 100 again today and it didn't choke, other than again, not always locking open

Its pretty frustrating, as this gun use to be flawless, and now I don't trust it 100% when running suppressed. I take the suppressor off and all is well. Locks open and no jams

If the problem can't be resolved through heavier buffers you'll probably have to move to some manner of adjustable gas system (block, tube, reciever).

Okay, I ran some factory .223 hornady 55 grains through her just a min ago

Carbine- fail to lock on pmag- 1 oclock ejection

h2- fail to lock on pmag- 2oclock ejection

h3- locked a little over half the time ejection was just a little better than 2 oclock

I did have no jams this time. I cleaned the gun before shooting, As I mentioned earlier it seems to do worse when it is clean than when it is dirty. So based on all this and the fact it runs better dirty than clean I must assume that it is overgassed

I guess I will order a 9mm buffer and a auto carrier and hope that will be enough to slow down the bolt

any advice is welcome

unfortunately a switchblock is not an option with how this gun is set up

How about an MGI adjustable gas tube?  I usually use these, but often I find myself having to salvage the valve assembly and move it to a fresh gas tube I have because I want it at a different angle or position.

I really would like to stay away from adjustable gas blocks or tubes if I can

A guy on a different site turned me onto some heavier springs. Im gunna try that as it is the cheapest option at this point.

If that doesnt solve it I will try 9mm buffer and auto carrier, if nothing then Im gunna get a new barrel as Ive been planning on replacing this one in the next year or so

Get a full auto carrier.

After that, as you noted 9mm buffer or more spring. But you may get to a point were you have compromised the non-suppressed use.

Another good thing to try is a heavier spring.  Look at either a Tubb spring or a Wolff XP spring.

At this point id be okay with this gun being dedicated to suppressed use. Its not fun to shoot without it on with the muzzle brake

I've ordered a sprinco blue spring and an auto carrier

Can I ask why?  These are not something you would keep adjusting when you go back and forth from suppressed to unsuppressed.  It's just a much easier way to tune the rifle with infinite resolution rather than changing springs and weights.

It would require me taking most of the gun apart.

I don't have any experience with them

I'm not crossing it out. I just would like to try alternatives first.

If this spring and carrier doesn't work its probably something I will get

If I could somehow fit a Noveske Switchblock under my rail with cutting a little off the top rail Id be okay with it
