| I am looking at getting a suppressor and I want to know if I get a .45 ACP suppressor, can I successfully use it on a .22lr or a 9mm? I am looking at suppressing the following calibers : 45 ACP, 9mm luger, 32 ACP, and 22.lr. Can I do all that with one can or should I look at diversifying? One brand that has my attention is Thompson Machine Suppressors. |
| Sure you can use a .45acp suppressor on smaller pistol calibers like the ones you mentioned. I would get a suppressor you can take apart to clean since you want to use it on .22lr which is very dirty ammo. I would look at the AAC Ti-Rant 45 suppressor. Of course dedicated suppressors will always be better. So you may want to get 9mm and .22lr suppressors in the future since they will be smaller and quieter than using a .45acp suppressor on those smaller calibers. |

Thanks for the information! Question. I understand that 1911s and Glocks require a Neilsen device to cycle properly. Do the Berettas and Taurus pistol need them since the barrel doesn't tilt? If the barrel moves, you should have one. Only on fixed barrels (Makarov, HK P7/P14... HiPoint, I guess... any subgun or rifle, plenty of others) can you expect reliability without a decoupler. Of course, you can always try it without the decoupler. Worst that can happen is you have to hand-cycle it. |
