Hey so i've been using an AAC SPR/M4 for about a year now, runnning mostly .223 through it. This is one of the first times that i have run XM193 through it and an interesting thing happened. Every other round, there would be more of a "whump" sound, versus the normal higher "crack" - almost as if something is slowing the round down. Any ideas?

I looked for baffle strikes and didn't find anything unusual - everything looks good as far as i can tell.

What's your rate of fire?  Could it be that you're firing slow enough to be getting first round pops?

not slow enough to get multiple first round pops - rate of fire varied, but it was still consistently every other round and sometimes not the first round after a short pause - it may just be the ammo
