So.... I'm really excited because I just purchased a 12th Model for my MK12 Mod1.  Should be at my dealer in a week or so.  I'm just wondering if this can is really all it is cracked up to be? There just isn't a ton of info out there on it.  I know its supposed to be pretty quiet and durable.  Either way, I'm ecstatic to finally get my hands on one.... Just want some more reviews from people in the know!

Thanks.

Yes, the Ops 12th model is a fantastic can IMO.  You should be happy with it.  Be careful they start to get addicting..

The 12th model is hard to beat in terms of sound.   Ours meters 132DB at the 1M mil std location, and we tested it at the non standard right ear location and it metered 139.  From what I've seen, following testing for years, it looks like that is a pretty good combination.

Really they sound phenomenal though, so it's hard to appreciate an Ops 12th model without firing one in the field.

The 12th is a great suppressor for sure.  My 12th is the .30-cal version seen on the bolt-action in the rear here.

For 5.56 caliber I tend to prefer the 16th Model for a bit smaller and lighter weight but still very, very quiet.  Ops cans meter pretty well but sound even better to the ear because of the tone.  They don't have a sharp crack at all.

I could not be happier with my Ops Inc products.

They're ok if you're into that sort of thing.

HAHA, Ron so humble of you to say that...  I am stoked to get the can.  Its saying something that its the only can I have purchased without actually shooting it first.  The rep on your cans is very good and I'm excited to say the least.  I am also considering another 30 cal 12th for my bolt gun... Who do you recommend for getting the barrel profiled correctly?

Thanks to everyone else that chimed in too!

I used a Broughton #5.8 contour barrel on my .308 build.  There was enough barrel material to contour the rear angles into the barrel without using a separate collar.  The work was done by Jason Nixon while we both worked at American Precision Arms.  Neither of us work there anymore though.  However, I can recommend David Walker, who is still at APA, to do the work if you want to go this route.

Steve at ADCO has done a lot of barrel work as well.  He is very familiar with Ops Inc products and I am sure could get you setup.  The 12th Model in .30-caliber and 5.56 are both incredible performers.  Nothing on the market sounds like them.

#7 Shilen. Some guy named Ron cut it. Great work but I heard he dresses sloppy.

Sloppy dresser? I figured you'd turn on me Ian. That's why I gave you thread protectors that don't have matching knurls. Who's laughing now.

Sloppy dressing and tight pants are in right now so that was actually a compliment.

The sloppy dress is to distract for the hairdo.

Ian - what kind of POI shift do you get suppressed vs unsuppressed?

No idea, I haven't shot the rifle unsupressed since I put that barrel on three or four years ago.

There's no shift on the FAL though.
