| I just got my Evo-9 last week. I have already put about 300 rounds through it. I have cleaned it per the instructions. Do I need to soak it to try to clean out the baffle area? I am a noob when it comes to this... Would I be able to plug the muzzle and just fill'er up with hoppe's or Break free CLP inside and let it soak to try to cut the carbon buildup? Or would something else be better? |
| I'm interested in a solution to this as well. I've waited over six months for my transaction to finalize before getting mine a week or so ago and my Ti-RANT already has a few hundred rounds or so. I was also running mine wet quite a bit. I would like to know what the best method is. I thought about solvent coupled with a nylon bore-brush of some sort (possibly a .410 shotgun bore brush perhaps?). Got any ideas? |

Well... I figured what the hell and gave it a go. I plugged the muzzle and sprayed Breakfree CLP and then poured about 1 small bottle of Hoppe's in the can. I filled it up and let it sit for about an hour.
I put on some gloves and kept giving it a shake every now and again. I poured the combo back in to a bottle and got all the excess out by shaking it. The liquid was that blue/green color coming out. I then wrapped the end of a bleeder valve on a compressor with a rag(to protect the can threads) and used compressed air to blow out any excess. In all, it seems to have worked pretty well. I may still pick up some gun scrubber to blast out the inside. |
