I've died calling several times and left messages but with no return call. I tried yesterday and now the mailbox is full. Are they a good company to deal with? I'm not impressed at this point.
Thanks form the advice. |

All seriousness, he is highly reccoed around here. He'll get back to you, probably just busy. |

I've tried calling Bryon @ Major Malfunction a few times and missed him .. but that is usually because he is on the line with other customers!
Bryon is the largest silencer dealer in the country and for good reason, I wouldn't hesitate for 1 sec to send him $$ .. and NOT worry about getting screwed like some other "dealers"! YMMV .. but Major is just fine in my book! |
| I have heard he is a great guy to deal with. Unfortunately, I called him on and off for about 2 months straight and could never place an order. I had to go elsewhere. Once, I was lucky enough to even get him to pick up, and I asked him if I could place a quick order. He said he would have to call me back, but he never did. I was bummed, as I have always heard he was GTG. But I felt I shouldnt have to beg someone to take my money |
|
Quoted: I IM'ed him last night, so far no response. I know he is busy but you would think if his business is so large than why can't he hire someone to answer phones and take care of business? 39 Employees = more overhead = cans cost more The whole reason his cans are so cheap is volume sales and low overhead cost. |

I called twice and emailed 2-3 more times over the past week. Voicemail is full, no response to emails. More surprising is no "disclaimer" on the website for volume, unreturned calls, etc. And I am ready to purchase so it wasn't a time-wasting "how do I?" type message. I hope everything is alright with the guy, and that this is just the whining of some internet busy-bodies.

From another forum "I get hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of calls each and every day. The phone starts ringing around 0830 in the morning and does not stop ringing until I call it quits in the evening. It's physically impossible for me to field every call - I'm very sorry. If you can please PM me your phone number, I'll give you a call as soon as I can. In a couple of months I'll have someone else to help answer phones and our new website (where you'll be able to order anything we carry) will be up within a month. Very sorry for any inconvenience. ETA - If you'll notice, I'm posting here at 3 a.m. central time - this is the only time that I can get all of the paperwork done (Form 3s, Fedex airbills, etc.) that I need to do without having to stop to answer the phone" |

It's amazing he gets anything done at all! Maybe he needs to hire a cheap girl to wear tight clothes. And, uh.. like answer the phone or something. Yeah. The phone. |
| I tried to connect with MM for several weeks without success. Found another dealer that had my suppressor in stock in my hometown. Even though I have a very poor first impression, based on so many good reports, I will probably try him again for my next suppressor. |

I am not a girl, but I would wear tight clothes and answer the phones if I got to play with the merchandise on occasion. |

There are other Dealers on SilencerTalk that sell at rock bottom costs also. |
| that's a good point, he has received about 3 feet of snow which throws everything off with shipments and what not. Honestly though, if you're serious about a can, don't be a weiner and send him a pm. call him in the morning at 8:00 am his time. I guarantee you will get a hold of him because it works for me every single time. |
| the guy is great to talk to, and answers most questions like you are his only customer. I bought a ac 7.62sd a while back, and screwed up when I ordered the mounts, I gave him a call and before I could finish explaining myself, he said " do you want to send them back for a refund, or exchange them for something else" no BS no hassle, and willing to work with a customer who screwed up. so I send him the mounts a week or 2 ago with a check to make up the difference, no mounts as of yet, but am worried about it .... not a bit. |

I did get hold of him myself (finally) and he was very courteous and professional. He had two incoming calls while I was on the phone with him (5 minutes).
Pro-tip: call early on weekdays. But, he sold out of what I wanted around the same time I was trying to get in touch, so given the additional wait of waiting on resupply, I will probably go elsewhere. Funny thing though, even the local dealers are getting frustrated with people not answering their phones! I've had a guy be on hold with AAC for 20 minutes... twice... in two days. I think he's about to tell me to take a hike. The bad thing is many of you will also get frustrated and go elsewhere. The good news is, it appears his business model is working, and you will not be missed.

| Same thing happened to me. I called multiple times, sent about 8 emails, sent PM's from other sites with no response over about a 3 week period. I finally arrived at the conclusion my business was not that important. I understand people get busy but good grief, if someone can't respond in that length of time to at least one form of communication, I'll just find what I need elsewhere. I know what I want and was ready to order, just needed some instructions. |

I had trouble getting hold of several places. I tried with MM the most becuase I had heard good things. I am still waiting a call=back from AAC and a local dealer from about a week ago. I ended up finding a local dealer who gave me the same price and was available to make a sale and was very courteous and professional. In fact, it ended up being less expensive when it was said and done. I'm an educated man but I can't figure out how leaving leaving good money on the table from willing and enthusiastic customers is a good business model. No hard feelings, he can run his biz how he sees fit. If he's happy with it, that's all that matters but it's a fact, he is loosing out on sales. I'm happy, I found a quicker, less expensive, knowledgable route. From my own personal experience, I'll search locally first. |

Not disagreeing with your decision to go locally - I am pretty much in the same boat at this point. But I have yet to find a local dealer that comes within $100 of his prices. I only have two dealers: one charges a $75 transfer and wants $125 more for the can, but is a total ass personality wise. The other charges $50, is further away, is only available from 10am-3pm weekdays, and hasn't been able to get me a price yet (due to AAC not answering) but will probably also be $100-$150 over M-M's price. Best case scenario, it still costs me $50+ to go locally once transfer fees are added in, but with the added benefit of not having to wait on an additional dealer transfer. Of course, no one has my can in stock right now, so even that might wind up being a wash. So... moral of the story: appreciate the local services that you have! |
