I've got an AAC Element that I'm using on a barrel that has AR15 (~0.65") long 1/2-28 threads.

Will this create any problems?  It does thread on all the way and snugs against the shoulder.    The thread specs from AAC are more like 0.40" long threads.

I think the threads will eventually hit the blast baffle if they are too long.  I had a couple barrels re-threaded to avoid this as they seemed too long to me.

Or you could have a spacer made for less than $10 at about 0.20" that will keep the proper distance to avoid this problem. Several makers have 0.20" spacers available. Check the AAC specs for that suppressor and adjust accordingly.

Don't do it.

Buy something like this:

I had a pistol with close to .6 of threads it was very loud because I was be basically missing the first expansion chamber.  It'll also erode the first baffle.
Spacers are cheap, getting your silencer fixed is not.
Also, carbon will build up on the end of the threads on the barrel making removal difficult and gritty.

I had my pistol cut back a bit by Tornado Technologies.  I bought spacers for my AR.
