Check Cashed 5-25
Pending 6-22
Approved 9-8
Forms arrived 9-11 (today)

Put a little bit of anti-sieze on the threads and took it for a spin.  I don't have any other .22 cans to compare it to,
so I'll just go with the generic line "sounds like a pellet rifle",  actually quieter than some pellet rifles I've fired.

Used CCI Subsonic HPs,  they were fine.   POI didn't move much, if at all.
With a bolt action rifle at 50 yards I was popping a Coke can full of sand, dead on,  no adjustment to scope.

On the BuckMark Camper Whisper it exceeded my expectations,  approaching "hollywood quiet" with the CCI Subsonics.
Pffft  pffft   pfffft.    Was in the woods,  a lot of foliage,  and shooting into a soft backstop.
(Hard backstops create added impact noise.)

After about 100 rounds I took it apart and did the first cleaning, for practice.
Came right apart,  cleaned with WD40, toothbrush, cotton rag.  easy enough.

I'm happy!

Will be trying 2 more hosts tomorrow,  weather permitting (might get rain tomorrow)

And here is the obligatory suppressor porn:

BuckMark Camper Whisper,  Tacsol Rail w/integral rear sight and HiViz front site.
Cycled like a champ, no hiccups.

Nice.....I love .22 Suppressors!

Congrats on your new toy and enjoy it!

nice unit I went with the sparrow instead, but may have went with the Alpine if Gemtech would have given me an answer last year they were gonna make a takedown. I called them several times and they'd never give a committed response. So naturally I got the sparrow. Their Outback 2 is great when baking the red locktite off to make it a takedown. enjoy

Thanks for the positive comments.

Here's another host,   the Ruger SR-22 sporting the Gemtech Alpine.

That is good new about the time frame for your can.  Mine went pending 6-9 so I would think it must be getting close but who knows with them.

Burn-Z,  I just realized your text got imbedded inside the quote box, above.

you wrote:

I agree,  you are probably getting real close,  can just depend on the examiner, and what stack of papers your is in.
You'll probably see it pretty soon.

I have now run the Alpine on my 4 hosts and it has done well on all of them.
I've run through about 200 CCI Subsonics so far,  and am looking to shift to some other brands,
and step up to some  'target' speed rounds to see whether they go supersonic in the various barrels.

S far, so good.  Having fun!

Anyone that has some favorite 22 brands they use for rile or pistol,  I'm all ears?

I must have goofed on the reply sorry.  My friend runs CCI standard and subsonics through his can.  He has tried all the bulk (Walmart) stuff and the remington golden bullets seems to be the quietest of all the bulk stuff.

Okay check sent 5/17 form came in and picked up can 9/24.  127 days!  Bought a Select Fire (Company) Quiet Toy (Model).  Took it out today with Fiochi (I think that is how you spell it) subsonics.  Are some subsonics quieter than others?  I was shooting near a body of water would that make it louder?  Can was louder than I thought it would be.

A body of water will transfer and echo sounds,  I know that from living my life near the water.

I notice a difference if i am next to a structure (louder) versus being out in the open (quieter)
so it must be noise reflecting off of the wall of the structure.

Another thing to consider is the sound of impact of the projectile.
What were you shooting?  what was the backstop?
i realized a lot of the noise is the sound of impact,  which you usually don't hear firing unsuppressed.
That impact noise would certainly be reflected back from the surface of the water.

Try this:  get away from the body of water,  and find some woods.  Shoot it there.
I find in the woods with the trees leaves and soft matter on the ground echo is cut to nothing,  and the sound is at it's quietest.
Then I go back up near my pole building (metal sides) and once again get more (reflected?) noise.

So try shooting in various areas,  to see if there is a difference.   I haven't used Fiocchi Subs,
but if they are indeed Subs,  you should be getting good suppression.

With CCI Subs the BuckMark is as quiet as anyone should expect it to be.
I was shooting an 1/8" steel plate over the weekend and all I could hear was the click of the pistol's action and then the loud pinging of the steel.  click-PING  click-PING  click-PING

Gotta love the PING.

Today is day 59 for me.

I'm sick of waiting.

Your suppressor looks nice. Know that everyone here waiting on their paperwork hates you though .

And very soon yours will arrive, and you can join me,  and be among the hated!

Seriously,  just put your mind on other things,  it will pass quickly.
Make sure you have your host(s) set-up,  buy some subsonic ammo, etc. etc.
If you are on day 59,   you are well into it,   shouldn't be too much longer.  Good Luck!

I hope so. My dealers last trust transfer took 63 or 64 days. He's also a member here. So HOPEFULLY, only a few more weeks.

I will try next time in the woods to see the difference.  I am trying different kinds of subs to see which work best.  When I added a little water to the can it was super quiet but only lasted a little while.

Is there any buildup between the baffles and the tube?  Can the baffles be easily removed after lets say 1000 rounds?

I took it apart to check it out after about 250 rounds.  The baffles are aluminum which I thought were going to be stainless.  But, for weight I can see why they did that.  There is some build-up on the baffles so they need a good soaking.  My friends suppressor is as quiet as mine when he uses Federal 550 and when I use subsonics.  Again, with the water it sounds like it should but dry seems very loud to me.  I may give select fire a call.

Wish it was that easy to gauge. My last transfer, trust  form 4 suppressor, took about 60 days door to door. I've had a form 1 out now for 85 days, still pending.

I doubt the Alpine can go 1,000 rounds without cleaning, but its a neat design.  I thought I read Gemtech mentioned cleaning it every 250 rounds or 500? As far as I know the Sparrow is the only 1,000+ king. Its nice not to clean

I'll clean way before 1000 rounds...just wondering whether the baffles are easily pushed out after so many rounds.  Does carbon buildup between the baffles and the serialized tube?

I'm not seeing a lot of build-up between the stack and outer tube when I clean.
Since the baffles are caged and sleeve into one and other,
The only dirt getting by to the outer tube is more along the lines of fine powder, not much grit.
The stack pushes right out,  but I can't speak for what would happen if you went 1,000 or more rounds?

From the Gemtech Manual:  "Disassembly and cleaning should be performed after each day's shooting or at intervals not to exceed 250 rounds."

I've gone 150 , maybe 175 in a day,  then cleaned and didn't find it difficult at all.
I was using CCI subs.   As we all know about 22lr.  you can get some really dirty ammo,  so,
I'd say try a specific ammo,  and keep up with the cleaning until you know how dirty that particular ammo makes it and at what round count.
IF you switch to another brand,  then make sure to inspect that ammo to find its "filthy factor".

In about a 2 weeks I'll be blowing through a lot of ammo,  maybe upwards of 2k worth.
I'll stop and do the cleanings and try to record level of gunk at each cleaning.
