Dear ARFCOM,
I have a 45Osprey being used on my USP 45 Tactical. I have a Glock 23 I want to use as a secondary host, but am having a hard time deciding which route to go. Here are my options: A) 1/2x28 threaded 40 to 9mm conversion using 147gr subsonics B) 9/16x24 threaded 40 s&w barrel with standard 180gr C) Pie Anyone with experience of either of these with an Osprey setup or any other can for that matter please chime in. Also, which do you think would be quieter? Thanks, TkFF |

I haven't shot 9mm through my Osprey 45 "yet". Mostly cause I haven't bought a piston for it. I have a multimount on my P228, so I know how crazy quiet suppressed 9mm 147 subs can be. I ordered a custom piston from Silencerco for my .44 lever gun and asked Mike Pappas what he thought 9mm would sound like through the Osprey 45. He said, "you won't be dissapointed; it will probly make you giggle a little bit." Thank you very much for putting the quote from Mike in there. That actually answered the exact question I've been trying to get answered for a couple weeks now. A question, though: If I was planning on putting a .45 can on my 1911 and on my 9mm M&P, I would have to get different pistons? Would I not be able to just get a thread adapter, assuming they're not the same threads (haven't ordered the barrels or can yet)? Thanks again! |
