Who makes and a good barrel for the 228? I see Sig has factory barrels but I would like to stay with standard threads @ 1/2 x 28 tpi.

Bar Sto is what I am using in mine. I had to have a gunsmith install it. I used a 229 barrel in a 228.

Sig does. You can get it straight from Sig or TGS (where I got mine). They appear to be out of stock at TGS right now. Call Sig and see what they say. Since I bought mine (in metric) Sig started making them in the standard 1/2" threads which are a little more useful if you've got other hosts. The Sig barrel is a drop in; mine has worked flawlessly since day one.
