Not sure to post this here or in the .22 forum....
I am going to be getting a TAC-65 soon and have my P22 ready to go. I'd like a longgun host as well. Was thinking about a 10/22, but was told that they aren't the most quiet with a can. I'd be buying this rifle just for the supressor, so would want it to be as quiet as possible. Already have a 77/22 bolt gun in .22, but do not want to thread the barrel on it. Not sure about the aftermarket support, or if I could get a TB for it...that might be an option, but would just assume get a seperate rifle for it. So - what are you guys using for hosts for .22? A cheap bolt gun would be perfect - I think there is a guy in town that could thread the barrel for me. |

CZ 452 and Remington 504.
I think the 452 is better just because my 504 has a lilja barrel and one missing extractor so it's more fun to play with the 452 that extracts spent cases than to play the "lets use the mini screwdriver to extract cases" game. Last I looked Brownells was out of 504 extractors. Now the Savage people make a tactical .22lr and that looks like a good buy. It's nice to have a good stock if you can get one for cheap. |

Biathlon 7-2 Basic! Get it before no more are imported

| A 10/22 with subsonic ammo and a bolt buffer is very very quiet with a can (at least with the Outback II I was shooting). A supressed CZ or Savage bolt action .22 with subsonics would be awesome. Once my 3 year old daughter is old enough to start shooting, I'm planning on getting her Savage Cub T threaded. Since it'll shoot .22 short, it should be pretty quiet. |

Just cause' a guy can run a lathe doesnt mean he knows how to thread for a can. If its done wrong, a can mfg will not warranty the can and you are sol on repairs. As far as a host, any bolt gun or used 1022 works. |
