I want to get a .22 suppressor to run mostly on a pistol ( but would still like to use it on a rifle now and then ). Of the four that are offered by AAC which one do you all recommend?
Thanks all! |

The quietest two are the Element and the Prodigy, and they are both user-serviceable cans. I would look at either of those. The Prodigy is a monocore aluminum baffle can, and the Element is a multi-piece stainless baffle can. The advantages of in the Element is that it is a bit easier to clean, and it is multi-caliber rated (according to Silencer Research). Both are full-auto rated. If the easier cleaning and multi-caliber capability are important to you, go with the Element. If not, you can save yourself $100 and get the Prodigy. I don't need either and I got a great deal on a Prodigy so I went with that. If you're leaning toward the Element, take a look at a Spectre. It is also at least $100 cheaper than the Element, multi-caliber, user serviceable, stainless construction. Built like a tank. Only downside to the Spectre is the weight. It's twice as heavy as the Element. Probably not at all noticeable on a rifle, but you said you're mostly interested in pistol, so weight may be more of a factor. ETA, DEFINITELY get a take-apart can. .22LR is VERY dirty to shoot through a can. |
